My manager would love to get a chart online every month, but truth is that it’s really hard for me to find 10 tracks that I love, released in the previous month and in Beatport only. So I made a chart that combines the coming and going months in the Spring season. Currently I am playing a hybrid between live set and dj set, and the tracks selected in the chart are the ones that I love to mash up with my latest productions. Hey guys, long time no updates but I can assure you that I am working on quite a few new things. One of which is a little surprise for all the DEFINE ONE fans out there. When I finished the album “SELF” I thought that the Define One project will take a deserved brake. However, it seems that it is already a big part of me so I couldn’t help but keep working on it. So.. Yeah - mark the date 16.03.12 (exactly 4 months after “SELF”) and go to defineone.com once the d-day comes.

Stephan Panev's new EP will be called "Silencer"

My first EP planned for 2012 will be released in March for This Ain’t Music, called “Silencer”. It will include 4 brand new original tracks. This is even more special for me because my last EP as Stephan Panev was released back in 2009 - “Tatul / Mishii”, since then I’ve released two albums and 6 singles (both as Stephan Panev & Define One). Also this is the first original material released as Stephan Panev since I’ve spent the whole 2011 working on the album for my moniker Define One.

That’s why this EP can be considered as a comeback EP and man.. It feels good to be back. The release will be presented with a video in February. Meanwhile the collab I told you about earlier (the one with Scribble) will be released as well rather sooner than later. Oh and btw my homepage has gone through a major overhaul to celebrate the upcoming material.

Hey guys, me and Scribble got together to work on a track and we actually managed to come up with one, even though our sounds are not that close to each other. It’s a nice crossover between my beats and trancy melodies and his moodier chords and ambience. More info on that soon. This is a shot of one of my latest projects. It’s a track that I am making for a new side-project that you are going to love (hopefully). As you can see I’ve changed my workflow in order to challenge myself and I’ve exchanged the cozy atmosphere of Ableton Live, with the rather unknown one to me of Propellerhead’s Reason. I’ve used it before but never for a whole track, so this is something new for me and I am enjoying the experimenting. Also that synth Thor (on the picture) is fokkin awesome.

On a side note, my next EP as Stephan Panev is finished and it will be announced and then released for This Ain’t Music in the coming months. I am happy to let you know that I am going back to my roots with this one, so stay put. More updates soon…

MOOG introduced their new synthesizer from the TAURUS family, called MINITAUR. And as you expect.. It looks awesome. Since I’ve always loved the deep analog bass sounds, this is so going into my wishlist for 2012. Comes out Spring 2012 and will cost a bit under $700. Let’s see the Europe price though…

Happy to let you know that the little movie about my new album is now available online. This is the last chapter of my biggest project to date and actually I am really happy that I am now over. I think that it came out as a nice video material, that will be interesting to those of you who want to learn more about my moniker Define One, the thoughts hidden behind the tracks and most of all - the things that I experienced during the making of the album.
